Lately, my 4 month old little girl, Sophia has been
interested in everything. Her head is constantly on a swivel, and she is
reaching for everything. Of course everything she is able to grab heads
straight to her mouth for her to bite on!
This is great for the most part, but I have had some
frustrations. First, she went through a biting me phase. Let me just tell you….OUCH! Then here lately, she has
started playing with my breast while trying to nurse. Sharp little fingernails
do not feel good when they are on that sensitive skin, never mind all the times
she would frustrate both of use when she would accidentally push away from me
and lose her latch.
I found this teething necklace on Artsy Finds on Etsy, and
it has been a huge help!
While other stores have teething and nursing necklaces,
Artsy Finds offers personalization that I haven’t found elsewhere. While there
are several options for personalization, I chose for my necklace to say, “My
Love” on one strand while the other says “Sophia.” This is one of those special
items that will be great to keep and show her when she is older.
Artsy Finds has several nursing necklaces in various colors.
All of them are adorable. I had a really
hard time choosing which I would try! Finally, I settled on the ‘Pastel Soother’
which contains beautiful shades of blues, purple, and a soft gray. All the beads
are wooden, giving it a natural look.
The first time I wore this necklace while feeding Sophia, I
knew I had made a good choice. Instead of getting so distracted by all the
things going on around her, she was focused on the necklace. She likes reaching
for the hand crocheted beads in particular, which are bright enough to hold her
interest, and far enough down on the necklace that she can easily reach them.
Our nursing session went off without a hitch, and I started wishing that I had
gotten this necklace much earlier, as it would have saved us many frustrations!
This necklace is also good for teething. Sophia likes to
chomp on the large focal pendant while I am holding her, or when she is sitting
in my lap. It is great for keeping her attention, and if she drops it, it doesn’t
roll all over the floor.
The only downside to this necklace is that Sophia has been
known to cry when I take it away from her if I need to put her down or pass her
over to Handsome. She does get the pendant pretty drool covered sometimes,
which is worn against my clothes and it transfers the drool to me. I don’t see
this as a negative though, as this would happen anyway!
Artsy Finds generously sent me this necklace to review for
you all, and they are willing to send one to a lucky winner! The winner will
have their choice of several different nursing necklaces, a value of over $20!
I like the Woody Wood one!
